That's right. . . If you are looking for a place to discuss devious plots and encounter development for your campaigns, whether they be D&D, D20 or some other system - feel free to swing by The Rat's Nest - New home of the Rat Bastard DM's Club.

Since 2001 a small group of DMs (mostly gathered from these boards) have been helping each other to improve our games and develop new and exciting encounters, npcs and plot lines for our campaigns - many of which you may have read in some of our members' story hours (like mine, Old One's and Pirate Cat's).

While the private area is remaining private we welcome anyone who wants to swing by "The Crucible" - which is our public forum to ask for help, give help to others, ask for or give suggestions or simply discuss various techniques of GMing. We will also likely be making an ovations of recruitment from among those who post there.

Our old boards will soon be turned into an archive for all our old threads -with each member having two forums - one private archive for material that is still secret and sensitive - and a public archive for "de-classifiied" threads where you can read about the development of some of our campaign ideas. The forum on the old board will be locked, however, viewable, but not commentable.

So, swing by - feel free to register and enjoy.

Am I invited in this time, or do I still have to keep away because I have the privelege of having a Rat Bastard DM?

You are more than welcome to take part in the public forum.

Unfortunately, as much as we'd love to have you - you are disqualified from invitation to the private forum as your DM is a current (and founding member).

You know, it occurs to me that it might be a neat idea to have a Rat Bastard DM's Club 2, for cases like Wulf's. That way, there would be a place for Sagiro and Wulf, and anyone whose membership doesn't conflict could participate in both. It could be run off the new boards right alongside the original Club.

For those not in the know, the idea behind the RBDMC is that membership is by invitation, and no one who plays in a current member's game can join. That way, we can exchange details of our game with the utmost confidence that no one from our games could stumble upon a massive plot spoiler by accident.

DARN! I can't join! You ARE a rat bastard DM. :(

Actually, I'd be interested in the second group.

So, uh, after I apply for an account do I get reviewed or something before being granted access? Most phpBBs just mail me a confirmation and I'm in, but yours didn't do that.

How do Rat Bastards who were Rat Bastards on the old Rat Bastards' boards become qualified as a Rat Bastard on the new Rat Bastards' boards?

*Whew* That was a lot of Rat Bastards!
