The Nine

Crothian

First Post
Anyone else watch this after Lost? It was confusing and seemed almost pointless. I fully admit I might just not be getting it. There was a bank robbery. I guess nine survive. Something happened to them but other then that they don't establish much. The characters are just there, there was no one I cared about. There was really no conflict or much of a plot. I know it was just the first episode of a serial show but it just seemed to fall flat.

I enjoyed the show. Tre the characters were not that developed, but like Crothian said it was the first ep. The only thing that is bringing me back is to find out what did happen in the bank. Whhich is what ABC was banking on.
:uhoh:

Sorry couldn't resist

I did watch it. I wasn't going to, and then as I watched I kept meaning to turn it off, but ... I kept watching it. I'm not sure what to think either. Obviously the big mystery is what happened during the standoff, especially to the security guard's daughter, and who the bank robbers were in the first place. I'm a lot less interested in the "they were a couple before the event, and now after the event their relationship is on the rocks" angle, or the "they're giving each other the eye" bit.

Saw a lot of familiar faces though.

What bugs me is except for a few little hints and things there is no reason to actual beleive something odd happened. It really doesn't feel like a mystery to me. It only seems like someone is trying to tell me something happened, but not show me that something happened.

If you're using a non-linear storytelling technique to obscure a cool surprise that happened in the middle of the timeline, that's great. But it better be a good one, otherwise you're building up to nothing!
