This will be better written than Tenet, at least. (Just saw it and was whelmed.)

Seriously, though, looking forward to this. This feels like the kind of spectacle that Nolan can do well and it'll be amusing to see his large fanbase of bros crowding into the theater for a fantasy film.

I liked Tenet. Not his best work, to be sure, but still, IMHO, a good movie. In general, I'm a fan of Nolan. Does that make me a "bro"? I'm not sure what that means, but it doesn't sound flattering... :D

No, not all of his fans are bros by any means, but there's a large number of men whose identity is wrapped up, in part, in being big fans of "cinema," which turns out to be The Godfather, Scarface, Fight Club and anything Christopher Nolan does. If you look for online discussion of his works, it's often drenched in testosterone.

And I thought that Tenet was mostly "hey, wouldn't it be a cool technical challenge to write and film scenes both backwards and forwards and make them all work both ways?" Which, sure, but the two and a half hour movie has the plot of simple short story, which means once you start guessing what's going on (I figured out 99% of the movie once I saw Pattinson not finish off his opponent during the heist), it's mostly just about watching it as a neat technical feat for the next two hours.

It was a very impressive bit of technical filmmaking, but I like my scripts beefier than what the movie offered.

Well, that is cinema. But otherwise the irony of all this always gets me. Those also have to be films with some of the highest discussed to not actually watched ratios. Or not watched all the way through. (with some viewers not actually able to watch them all the way through).

Yeah, the guys I'm thinking of 100% misunderstand Fight Club, for instance.
