The official Bastion Press Q&A thread

Any chance of these ever been released?

Probably not. At this stage, we have so many other projects in the fire that reworking the complex rules into something more than a scribbling of notes would consume too much time. I won't rule out having them in a future product, but not in the foreseeable future.

Lore of the Gods,

Is this the same format as the 3.0 pdfs updated for 3.5 with the Mesopotamians thrown in on top or is it significantly different?

Will the avatars be 20 level creatures or will they be expanded to use epic and or divine rules now that these are in the srd?

Is there an illustration for every god, hero, and monster?

Is the art all new and or will we see any photo type images like in two of the pdfs?

The format is similiar but different. We have included the material from the three pdfs but expanded upon it greatly. It will include the new information from the SRD and the avatars are stat'd up for 20th level but with notes for taking them into epic levels if need be. The art is all new and I believe every deity and monster gets an illustration this time. However, I haven't seen the final draft just yet with the art notes, so I can't be 100% certain to that.

I have a question -

Will Bastion ever try a full-color product again?

I sure do miss that...

Although we do bring it up from time to time, the realities of the current market make it highly unlikely. Sales have to drastically improve and remain at a much higher level before it will be financially feasible to do color again. Believe me, we would love to make full color products again, but that means everyone reading this message needs to run out and buy a copy of every Bastion Press product that they do not currently own and then have their friends do the same first. :)

Any more pdf adventures planned?

There still are not that many high level ones out there (My campaign could use something in the 18+ level range).

We are always looking for good adventures that we can release on pdf, especially for Oathbound. One thing that everyone needs to be aware of is that designers tend to get paid a flat fee for a pdf adventure because it doesn't tend to sell as well as a print product, so you're not going to get rich off of a pdf adventure.

If you have an adventure or a proposal for an adventure that you would like to submit for pdf release, drop Kevin Melka an email at kmelka@bastionpress.com about it.

I should also point out that I am in the process of creating a "Director's Cut" of Where Dark Elves Rule that will fix some of the errors, bring the adventure up to 3.5 and expand upon it greatly. When it is complete, I think folks will be extremely pleased with it.

Any plan to do an Arms & Armor 3.5 style expansion / update for any of your other books (like say, Airships & Spells & Magic)?

Personallly, I wouldnt mind seeing Minions get updated. Now that they have a new art direction and everyone has a better grasp on how ECL, level adjustment, etc... works, it'd probably have a better market if the art went up.

Then again, I think Creature Collection and Tome of Horrors had some of the worst art in them and they (from what I hear), were good sellers...
