The official Bastion Press Q&A thread

MG let their website and forum go silent and don't respond to email. The only reason their material is ending up as pdfs is some other company is doing it.

Some more questions for Tom:

Why wasn't there racial levels for the new races in WW? Are we going to see some in either the PG or a Legacies? I really like the ologatu and bern even if playing the latter is rather difficult. Heck, I see the ologatu spreading to all the domains (except maybe the Vault) due to their hardiness.

There are a couple of reasons for the decision not to, but the main one was space. We decided to give racial levels to those races found in more than one domain or that appeared in DOTF, that's why the urgoda received racial levels and the others did not. I'd like to keep updating new material onto the website, so racial levels for the WW races is a possibility, although I doubt that I'll incorporate it into the Player's Guide since the races chapter is huge already.

How much of the PG is going to be related to epic levels? Are there going to be epic level prestige racial levels? Are there going to be new maps for the Forge? Are there going to be new races?

Again, this was another issue about space and demand for this material as opposed to other material. Personally, I'm not a big fan of epic gaming, but that's just my opinion. Obviously, others love it. There are no epic level prestige racial levels and/or other epic material. Myself and others felt that new material on organizations, religious and secular, as well as a complete update of all previously material within the Forge was more essential than epic level material.

I'd love to do new maps, but that is a decision that is out of my hands. I'll be forthright. The map in DOTF is lacking to say the least. Unfortunately, cartography is expensive and money is somewhat limited. I could work out a barter arrangement like I did for Wildwood, i.e. you do a map for me and I'll write x, y and z for you, but nothing has developed that far yet. There are some new races in the Player's Guide, but there's nothing that wasn't mentioned in DOTF. So races such as the knuk, ith'n'yaroo and a few others appear but nothing "brand" new. Again, the races file is gigantic so it was a matter of space. We decided that races found predominately in one domain would appear in that domain book.

Are there going to be example characters like in MoA? How many pages is it going to be?

Probably not, but that's not a final decision. As far as a page count goes, I'd estimate somewhere in the range of 308 pages, maybe more.

Very cool on A&H.

A different question came up for me in reading wildwood (and I think in Arena too IIRC).

Any reason on why Vogels switched from size small (minions rebirth) to size medium(wildwood)? In Wildwood they are described as roughly four feet tall and 35 pounds.

Alchemy & Herbalists 3.5 will be released in pdf this week...

Change that to has been.

Though I wish that they removed the mentions of the reviews by roleplayingnews since it is long gone and the site is currently a source of viruses and spyware.

edit- what is new, if anything?
