The Old Fogy Story!!! Story Time

I saw 3 done on a cartoon the other day...
But yeah, not common. It'd have to be something played out in parts or on the boards would't it? Sounds like it's really based on one major event with some build-up...

They all sound like good ideas to me.

Even though it seems like people have made decisions, I will expand on number 2.

Laurendyll was a character I played for a very short period of time. He was Krystal's brother. Someone very near and dear to her.

He is from her past, a past that while it isn't very likely, I still like because I like to play odd things. Long story short, Krys made a deal with the Wizards of her world in the ruling to fake her death so she didn't have to put her family through the hardship of having a dark elf in the family. True, she had to put them through the hardship of death, but she thought that better for them. Somehow, Lauren found out that it was all a lie and that she had not died.

The price of Krystal's deal with the wizards was to investigate some portals they had found (which led her to the CRT and the rest of the places). She was to report for a certain period of time. Certain wizards who didn't like her let the info slip to Lauren and sent him on his way so that he could punish his sister for her wrong doings.

He kidnapped her from the tavern, and later she was rescued by Neo. Lauren was taken away to be punished. Neo doesn't come around anymore, and I'm sure we could figure out a way for him (Lauren) to break free.

*shrugs* It sucked, I know but I was board and wanted to try to add a little more to things.

Mental note: start paying attention more.

I'm putting the vote in for 3 or 9.

Gah..

I like that storyline. It might be interesting to see what became of a sequal, per say.

And after all, even though we don't use a storyline this time, doesn't mean it won't be used at all :)

3, 7, 9. They all look good and seem to be quite popular. So instaed of further voting it down to one why not combine...

3) Word comes of a need for adventurers, and somehow, each of us gets a personal invite. But when we go to the meeting place, things turn out much different. The war/military action we were called to was a hoax, and now we are to be pitted against each other for someone else's amusement. Those who don't participate get... punished.

7) And to build off something in another thread.. a group of charismatic persons begin to build a following to a new god, new idea, or new principle, and win the masses over to their beliefs.. and seek to remove those who would oppose them. This would require the new villains to be charming, and stealthy.. and would require a bit more effort, as they would be a subtle and seductive evil, rather than in your face evil.

9) The Emerald Fist, a group of Yuan-ti set on reviving their dead Goddess and creator. How do they revive her you ask? one of two ways:
1. Adding to their number and converting people to the worship of their Goddess, accomplished often through a ritual process of turning captives into Tainted ones or, in the result of a failed ritual, broodguards

2. Ritualistic sacrifice. They believe that humanoid sacrifice, when performed properly, not only dwindles the number of the humanoids who hate them because of what they are, but also appeases their Goddess and brings them one step closer to reviving her, an event they believe will result in her devouring the world and taking her children to a place of eternal bliss.

So the Emerald Fist needs to revive their goddess. They begin to operations to get this done. First they send out a group of their most charismatic people to infiltrait the Juxtan/Tavern folk, win them over to the Goddess's cause and remove those who resist. They are a subtle and seductive force: promising things that people really want...and delivering them. Unfortuantly several people just cant be either won over or killed. Thus they are sent a false notice for help in an adventure/war/military action. When they responde they are they are captured and it is shown to be a hoax. They are set in a world/labyrinth/plane where they are subtly set against each other. I.e. to person "A", person "B" (a long time friend) seem to have sold out to an evil cult on that world/plane/whatever. To person "B" it seems that person "A" has sold out. In reality niether have. Complicate this by having twenty or thirty inolved in this tangled web (and some of them actually sellouts) as well as actual enemies and it is almost impossible to sort out or survive through...and The Fist knows this.

So in Juxta and the Tavern people must slowly fight of inflitration and seduction, while searching for a large group of missing firends, lovers, family, and heroes.
In the place where they are captured people must sort out who is friend and who is foe while they are constatly played against each other by the Yuan-Ti.

What do you guys think?

Jaerc- Not ta be rude..

First- I think trying to combine all those 4 story-lines into 1 storyline, might just get a smidge confuzzling for folks?

Second- Again, not ta be rude.. but I have no wish to join a story-line, using already developed villains.. or a setting specific group... as I think that tends to get rather limited, and kinda cliqueish, or at least it has in the past.

Bah.. but I am one.. not that such matters :)

Yeah now that I look back I agree partly with what you say Don. Combining them all was a little much, but taking one out and leaving it with 2 would be worth looking at IMHO. Your second point is in all way correct; instead of The Emerald Fist an entirely new orginzation would be better.

Really? Then I put forward my own organisation; The Faceless Lords. They're an Oerth based evil group who are best described as akin to ants. Anyone interested? I'd love to run an evil group... :) It also fits with the seventh suggestion -

And I could easily do the third suggestion within this framework, too. It'd be almost mandatory. What do people think? Want to know more about my group? ;)
