A short, but interesting Facebook post from Sophisticated Games freelancer Francesco Nepitello.

Played some TOR last night as it happens. I think the 1st ed is okay - wouldn't surprise me if the property moves to a different licencee. Tolkien is always going to be popular.

There are definite refinements and improvements that could be made, I'm not convinced Francesco is the guy to be doing it to be honest. For my money someone outside the original would be good to get a fresh take, but (regrettably) not all RPGs are written with my preferences in mind. ;)

If it's Sophisticated Games, it's the same licensee.
I was being unclear - I meant in relation to the partnership with Cubicle 7, who previously were involved in additional writing, editing, line management, etc. If this is solely coming under the auspice of Sophisticated Games see my original comments - if another partner is sought, that has the potential to add more value and wouldn't be surprising. :)

Very hopeful! I hope they managed to work out their deal with Cubicle 7, or if not that they can reuse some of the art. I was in love with that Jared Blando map.
