The Order of the Stick!

Knightfall

World of Kulan DM
Okay, I finally caught up to the end of The Order of the Stick by Rich Burlew. Someone had mentioned the strip here on EN World and I started reading it soon after. So, now that i'm caught up to the end, I figure it is my turn to educate those who may not have read any of it yet. (If even one person begins reading it for the first time then I will be satified.)

Thus, here is the link to the 1st panel of the comic: http://www.giantitp.com/cgi-bin/GiantITP/ootscript?SK=1

It would be nice if others chimed in with their fun-filled experiences regarding reading this strip. favorite moments, best one liners, etc.

Have fun! I certainly did!

I've had too many great laugh out loud moments reading OotS to recount.

I love they way they make fun of some of the rules conventions of D&D, and in particular the changes between 3E and 3.5. The "nerfing" of the halfling's weapons due to the weapon size rules in 3.5 was really funny to me. :)

I strongly recommend this comic. Read it! Do it now! ;)

I'd like to thank PirateCat for getting me totally hooked on this comic strip. My husband saw my obsession with it and got a friend of ours in the Boston area to get me a signed copy of the book for my b-day. Rich Burlew even drew Haley holding a cake! It was awesome!

I had generally ignored the Order until the day of the "I just regenerated a finger" panel. (last week).

So, after reading that, I went back and read the whole thing, all in one day.

And the one that REALLY killed me and had me laughing for fifteen minutes?

Issue 176 - first the "how does she move like that on these hexes? I can't even figure out how to charge in a straight line!" got me chuckling and warmed up for the "Halfing rage jumping attack" and the ensuing pause, rules explanation, and death.

Which damn near killed me.

I love the strip. It even motivated me to do a few characters of my group in the OOTS style.

Smoot... that is brilliant.

I am -so- doing that for our current parties.

Now if only I had some... TIME.

It did waste a lot of time, but it is enjoyable to fiddle around with Illustrator. It is meant solely as homage to OOTS.

the party:
Gustoff - Human Paladin
Homer - Dwarf Fighter
Anastasia - Elf Archer/Rogue
Si - Human Sorcerer
Dagan - Elf Ranger/Rogue
Threnan - NPC Human Cleric of some Death God (not an Evil death god).
