The Paladin

We were all at a door to the dungeon delve
To decide who would get to go in
When the ranger he sat right down next to me--
On his face was a greedy-eyed grin.
He says, "Son can you go down that corridor
Though I'm not really sure where it goes
But it's dark and it's deep
And I'd make that leap
If I wore a fighting man's clothes"

Pull out your sword you're the paladin
Pull out your sword tonight
'Cause we're all in the mood for a dungeon delve
And we are all too scared to fight!
Now Jonan the bard is a friend of mine
He dedicates songs to me
Although he's got my back when the ogres attack
There is someplace that he'd rather be
The fighter says, "This ogre's killing me"
As he ducks a blow from a mace
"Well, I know I could finance a castle now
If I could get out of this place"
Oh Lalela Lalelaa Lala Lalelaa La
Now Pal is a cleric with healing spells
And to be a good man he strives
Now he's muttering chants as he wets his pants
But at least he can save all our lives.
And the rogue she is practicing sneak attacks
As the wizard just flips through his books
As I mount up my steed and give orders to lead
The barbarian gives dirty looks.

Pull out your sword you're the paladin
Pull out your sword tonight
'Cause we're all in the mood for a dungeon delve
And we are all too scared to fight!
It's a pretty good fight for a dungeon delve
And the DM he gives me a smile
'Cause he knows that it's me that hits zero h.p.
While the others stand back for a while.
And the monster's blood flows like a waterfall
As I battle the beast without fear
But when I dispatch the brute and it comes time to loot
They say "Man what are you doing here?"
