The Pluto Campagin: Hard Drop [Starship Troopers]

OOC: most likely individual rentry capsules. Think an iron coffin in the shape of power armor

OOC: Everyone will be put into a M2 Drop Capsule. It is a delivery system for MI cap troopers that drop them through the atmosphere of a planet for a swift deployment. Cap is short for capsule. Think of it as a multi layered plastic capsule containing a trooper. It is shot from orbit and as it goes through the atmosphere layers are stripped off. A certain points parachutes are deployed to help slow your decent. Once you’re about to reach the ground a set of jets are activated in your armor that slow you to a landing on the planet. These jets are only used during a landing and are used up during the decent. While in the Capsule your armor gives you a read out of your position. A few miles up enough of the capsule is stripped away to give you a view of the outside.

Sgt. Hodge comes back from talking the pilot. "Ok you Ape! We are a go!" He goes to his drop capsule and straps in. Several techies then finish closing you up in your drop capsules. Inside the capsule it is dark and quite. Your armor's readouts show that all systems are green and you are in your capsule correctly. Over your radio comes Sgt. Hodge's voice. "Once you hit dirt form up and watch your backs. Report any bug activity. Good Luck and good hunting!"

You feel a shutter as the Viper is launched from the Alvin York. After about 15 minutes of dark and quite. A readout in your visor display tells you that the capsules are about to be launched. You can feel a deep booming vibration as the capsules begin to be launched. When it's your turn the boom is louder and it feels like your being shot out of a cannon. You feel the heat of entry into the atmosphere even through the layers of the composites that protect you. At intervals you feel a shutter as another layer is peeled off. Finally the last layer comes off and you can see. A dark planet can be seen below. The sky is colored a dark violet. It is rocky and whisps of thin gas cling to low points of the ground. A parachute is released just for a few seconds to slow your decent even more. The ground is no rushing up to meet you. About a half-mile up your suits reentry jets cook off and your guide yourself to a rough but safe landing.


OOC: Ok everyone is down and on the planet. Your suit's optics and built in lights help you see on this dark planet.

PVT Marcus ‘Rock’ Eckensberger

Rock tries to stay calm as his CAP desends through the weak Pluto atmosphere. Once he hits the ground, he will check over his gear and ready his rifle, looking around to see where his fellow Troopers are. Not sure if he is suppose to check in or not, he listens to pick up any traffic from his fellows

Dog touches down and quickly brings his weapon to hand, turning a slow 360 to watch for any hostiles and to mark his squaddies positions. "This is dog...no hostiles on our asses right now, but they'll be on us like fire ants on a dead possum soon I reckon..."

 

[Ranger Rick]

Popping out of the cap, Pokey shakes the cobwebs out of his head. He looks to seee the other caps and who is now down. Pokey jogs over to Pvt Rock and gives him an obvious touch and a thumbs up. Pokey than heads out to his position of protection. He looks around around and starts to feel awfully alone.

Nails lands hard in his suit, takes a quick moment to check his telemetry and jogs over to his position.

"Pvt McGuire, in position, sir!" He barks into his comm, and begins scanning his zone for hostiles.

Raising her assault rifle, Dana moved out with the others, double checking to make sure her toolkit was in position.

Polar takes a moment after landing to orient himself to his surroundings and starts to take up his position,"Good to be home! Now whats every body say to get it in gear!"(ooc-going to gen con be back on tuesday)
