The Poet's Second Fight! I'll take anybody on! -- Zappo Judging

MerakSpielman

First Post
Indeed, my head is bloodied, but unbowed.
I feel I still have something to prove.
I hope second chances are allowed
As I seek my fighting groove.

The Shadowed Poet lifts his beaten body off the ground and sees that, while he was unconscious, his opponent, Sanctus Togashi, and his two judges, are gone. He has lost his first fight, but is not disenhearted. Dusting off his simple clothes, he stands fully erect and shouts to the sky, "I can take it. Send me more!"
He then turns to the open, vague landscape around him. and seeing a form approaching him in the distance shouts out:

If you a worthy fighter be,
Come over here for all to see
How close you are to ready, fit and able:
I find your spouse to be sickly, your well to be squandered, and your discipline to be dishonorable!!

He then stands and waits for the figure return an insult and get a little closer so he can make out who it is.

OOC: New character, no rank or powers as of yet.

IC:

The Avenger calmly strode along the path, seeing a figure off in the distance. The figure screamed into the sky, then turned in The Avengers direction. Apparently it was a crazed madman... He yelled some bizarre poetry at The Avenger, apparently eager for a fight.

The Avenger quietly gazed at the figure for a few moments, and decided it would be best to deal with the man before he hurt anyone else who came along the path. He shouted back, "Very well, I accept your challenge! And might I say, I find your kin to be half-witted, your kingdom to be drab, and your shield to be foolhardy."

A plain-looking man walks in. He lacks any particular features - in fact, he seems completely unremarkable, to the point where a few minutes after having met him you could hardly remember his face.

OoC: It looks like we have a shortage of judges, again. If both of you are OK, I will judge this match.

"Neither insult is especially stinging, though accusing one's discipline and honor gives the Poet the edge.

The Shadowed Poet can choose match style and duration. Also, be it known that..."

The ancient masters have decreed this match to take place at the pillars south-east of Blackrock Pass on the morning of the dragon.

To have you as my judge brings me great honor,
(I hope my opponent'll concurr)
I'd like a standard match for 3 flags
And my victory I hope this'll insure.

OOC: Should I just post my move or wait for Avenger to say something first?

The judge pulls out a bunch of white and blue flags. "Let the match begin".

OoC: post the move; it is assumed that the combatants agree unless one says otherwise.

The phoenix obliterates the cavern; removes the touch of the fires!

The Shadowed Poet smiles grimly, points his finger at The Avenger and recites:

Obliterating all the Phoenix pure
The Darkened cavern lights,
From the fires is removed
The touch of fiery sight.

He crosses his arms and waits motionless for The Avenger to react, trusting his verse to protect him.

I have emailed him at the same time as the bump, but I haven't got an answer. Do you want to call for a disqualify?
