the quintessential orc (help?)

inspired by ashy and his commercial bust adventure i deceided today to attempt an orc portrait in clay. i got out around 50 lbs of clay and stared at it realizing i had no idea what to do.

what does an orc look like?

i think the 3e phb orc pic is boring (and can you not do better for such a core monster?) and i have seen lots of pics, but none of them stand out as being the best.

what pic do you like?

are they lower tusks or more upper fangs?

green? or greenish?

ape nosed? pig nosed?

pointed ears or more something else?

how sloped is the forehead?

just tusks or an underbite too?

fatty or lean?

I like my orcs Warhammer style! Huge, cubical, blocky heads, massive underslung jaws.

* are they lower tusks or more upper fangs?
Tusks. Big-arse tusks.

* green? or greenish?
Green all the way, baby! They're fungi, you know.

* ape nosed? pig nosed?
Erm... more humanish, but a little upturned and piggy.

* pointed ears or more something else?
Smallish, pointed, sticking out sideways.

* how sloped is the forehead?
Neanderthaloid. Used for political discussion and rational debate. BY NUTTING. Waaagh.

* just tusks or an underbite too?
Massive underbite.

I like mine with an undershot jaw, sloped forehead, pointed canine like ears , tusks and shaggy whiskers all about their jaws. They are a greenish gray.

se, i think you guys are describing the pig gueards at jabba the huts pad. and that is what i started to do, then realized what i was doing and felt silly, caught in the crossing references, i panicked.

Green Ronin's "Wrath & Rage" has several good images of Orcs and Half-Orcs.

As for my preferences:

Color: Greenish-gray

Teeth: Lower Tusks & Underbite

Nose: Apish (the Porcine Orc was destroyed for me by the movie Deathstalker... possibly the worst movie ever).

Form: Shaggy and Stocky (the lean ogre just looks silly to me; I like my archetypal big, massive bad guys)

Ears: small and pointed, with bits taken out

Forehead: sloped
