"What is important is to spread confusion not to eliminate it"

Plus, it's fun.
*dances around insanely, using the heads of random people as bongos.

The quote (which you can find in my sig) comes from a campaign I was in a number of years ago. The adventure was Dragon Mountain and I'm the one who said it (when you steal from yourself it aint piracy:)).

Nice to know somebody found it amusing.:D

You've always got to be scared of kobolds! Especially if you're playing Baldur's Gate and the kobolds are using flaming arrows. I remember getting near TPKed with a 7th level party against a band of Kobolds With Flaming Arrows (TM). Still dunno whether it was a bug or intentional, but they seemed to hit AC -6 (2e rules here) about half the time, and the arrows dealt serious damage.

Ah, everyone's favorite underdog!

The DM for my 2e game back in college, had a soft spot for the 1/2 HD fellows. Always thought they got the shaft. So he concocted revenge.

Enter the kobold heavy marines. Equipped with full plate, a helmet with a big spike on top, grenades, a musket with a bayonet, and rocket boots. (It was around this point when we discovered that certain areas of the campaign world had a higher tech level than what we were previously used to, I think for the express pupose of giving kobolds guns.) They would perfom a flying charge, ram you head on with the helmet spike, stab you with the bayonet and fire the musket.

After the initial, brutal encounter, those players whose characters had died to these horrors all asked if they could play one. Myself included. :)

After that first encounter and for the rest of the campaign, the word 'kobold' was nearly always followed by a chorus of 'Oh $%@*!' When fighting a mixed group of enemies, the top priority was always 'kill the kobolds first.'

Heh... my PC group was about 15th level or so when their taven was raided by a group of kobolds. A gate appeared in the middle of the taproom and a bunch of robed kobold sorcerers jumped out and started blasting everything in sight.

In Counter Pack 3 I wrote two kobold-specific Prestige Classes (which appear in a CP3 wallpaper in my website, in the Fiery Dragon wallpapers):

Drakeknight
"My scales shall run red with your blood"
Essentially, they're the flip side of the human shining knight who slays the dragon. The must swear allegiance to a dragon and be able to cast sorcerer spells. As they progress in levels, they learn how to effectively wear armor (reducing Arcane Spell Failure), Embody the Drake (similar to a barbarian's rage, except that it increases Strength, Constitution and gives SR) and Enlarge (growing to Medium size). They also progress their spellcasting powers a bit.

Shadowfang
"Quicker than a dragon's bite, deadlier than a dragon's breath"
Mostly rogue/sorcerers who slay for the highest bidder, but never against dragons. They can sneak around quickly, they get sneak attack, they develop a poisonous spittle, they can do Str damage (and possibly Dex) with a successful sneak attack, they can blink to and from the Shadow Plane, they can use a Shadow version of blur and they develop their spellcasting a bit.
