One of three things just happened:

gleemax is down
gleemax is now blocked at my work
I was banned for typing "lighten up Francis" to a troll that typed up a three paragraph rant on how this cartoon was delaying DDI and it was bad marketing and WotC was a bunch of idiots

Yea, I just got blocked too. I'm happy that they got rid of gleemax, but I wish they would get it's replacement in place.

One? Are you railroading? If any one of those is true, then either one or both of the others could also be true and you would not know. :D

Good point. I was just assuming a single point of "failure".

I put them in order of most to least likely, also...

Found it as funny and as offensive as the recent Jerry Seinfeld / Bill Gates commercial. Which is to say, 0 for both.

Personally I think the pulsing fervor over how **HILARIOUS** the troll was amounts to a few peoples' secret little way of sticking it to those who've been troublesome on these forums in the past, nothing to do with the actual thing. But that's just my own crazy-talk, what do I know.

I believe if you feel offended by either the trolling troll or the sycophantic kobolds you should examine your behavior over the last year on these and other boards and think about how you are portraying yourself. Both of those jokes in the cartoon are only possible because of the over-the-top attitudes that people have exhibited, thus making fools of themselves.

You can put lipstick on a troll, but it's still a troll. The kobolds can wrap the musty old dragon droppings in a thing called change, but it still stinks.

Or are we suffering from phony outrage?

"I support 4e. I am rather easy to talk to and give intelligent responses."

"I HATE 4e, AND I'M A CRAZED TROLL WHO CANNOT TALK IN COMPLETE SENTENCES AND USES ALL CAPS, LOOK AT HOW IRRATIONAL I AM!"

Were that cartoon to come from anywhere else, it would be banned from these forums for purposefully attempting to start an edition war.

The bootlicker Kobold was easy to talk to and gave -intelligent- responses?

Also, I'd like you to meet my two friends, hyperbole and parody. I feel like you three should hang out more.

I found it offensive

Kobolds are not that psychophantic if a GM knows how to play them correctly. I mean, really. It's just a terrible negative racial stereotype.

The representation of the PCs shouting "XP!" was spot-on however.

Loved it. Seriously. I'm a 4e hater and I thought it was funny. It does what every god comic should do. Portray a subtle amount of truth in a way that makes people laugh. What truth I found in it:

1. Master loves the shiney. True. Check.

2. There are people who hate 4e and drone on and on about it as trolls. True. Check.

3. There are people who love 4e enough that they seek to devour anyone who doesn't like it. Yum yum yummy. True. Check.

4. So long as the master gets his shiney, he's comfortable dishing out poop when he feels it appropriate. True. Check.

I mean, honestly. It does exactly what comics should do. Probably one of the best products to come out of WotC in a few years. Bravo! And as a 4e hater, I did really enjoy this one in both truth and comedy!

{Although, I too am a little offended at the lack of gnomes. :p }
