How tough are kobolds if Mal missed on an attack roll of 25?

my guess is that HP is an abstract thing and not how much bashing in the face with an axe something can take before dying.

maybe the kobold actually got hit gameplay wise, but since its still quite healthy and ready to fight, might as well just say he barely dodged it but still got smacked in the face with the shield.

thats my view

He hit. I'll work on being more explicit. I was being flowery with the shield bash doing the actual damage. I can see the confusion.
