Well as to dividing the loot:

Arden got the Orb in the other room
Angel gets the pact blade
Mira would get the Darkleaf Leather Armor
Mal who can use a bastard sword will get the Life Drinker
Aelek would get the cloak

Even if someone wanted to make a different distribution he couldn't find one.

It's almost as if a higher power wanted us to us to use this distribution...

But let's not get railroaded! Fight the system! Mira will use the bastard sword and have no clue what to do with it, Mal will wear the leather armor and lose 4 points of AC, just for fun Angel will use the orb and Arden the pact dagger. Aelek will use the cloak because someone should survive to tell the tale of the party who so grossly misallocated its magic items.

Future treasure will seem more organic.

Angel and Mira could trade items and use them efficiently. Pact blade used as a weapon remains a +1 dagger, so Mira could use it just fine. Angel wears leather armor, so the AC bonus would help her.

But I like the pact blade better =P

The +2 AC bonus to the first attack against her per combat will help Mira get in for combat advantage with the errata to stealth.

Aelek will use the cloak because someone should survive to tell the tale of the party who so grossly misallocated its magic items.

I see a none sense here... remember, your my master. You KNOW what is the lifespan of my characters.

Hey, I'm not complaining. I'm not a big fan of the lump of useless treasure approach. Tailored treasures means we are as powerful as our level indicates with fewer magic items.
