Let me turn up your "humor-detector" a few notches. 
I wish I could find my old Ral Partha miniatures from ages ago, back before anyone knew how to paint these things. I seem to recall glopping on Testor's paints onto them, and god forbit you drop your fighter, lest he have a flattened head. I agree, not going to be as durable but I like the price.

Your Reaper miniatures didn't fit? Which miniatures didn't fit?
The Lizardmen probably won't, because Reaper lizard people are designed to be about 50% larger than a regular human, and need larger bases. But their human and human-scale miniatures should work just fine. At most, you might want to re-base them onto standard size miniature bases, but that should be pretty easy for the vast majority of their product line.

My only wish is they be 25 mm scale or even smaller, rather than the 28 mm or 30 mm scale that seems to have annoyingly become the standard of late.
Yes, the larger ones can be more detailed, but I'd rather have something that fits in with what I already have, rather than having a new-scale halfling be the same size as an old-scale human.
Other than that, I'm all for it...metal minis all the way! (plastic minis are used for opponents in my game; they can be dramatically knocked over without being damaged...)
