The Rundown

Walkens was so-so villian, nothing he has not done before. Now for Sean William Scott it was a change, a big one as he is trying to move from comic jackass to the action movies. Yes, he was still comic but a change to his past roles and he worked well with The Rock, which makes you wonder if we are not seeing a new buddy movie franchise?

Seann William Scott is I think trying to get away from the "American Pie" all-shtick image, and I think he's slowly but surely pulling it off. Despite being a mediocre movie, his performance in "Bulletproof Monk" was not bad at all, and although bits of comedy wormed into his performance, he played it pretty straight laced.

I'll have to go see The Rundown as soon as I get a chance.

Rundown was teh cool! Rock is teh kickass! W00T!!

I enjoyed this one more than Scorpion King. Dwayne was actually acting a bit more in this movie, and coming off quite well. I'd easily put this movie up there with Rush Hour (and ahead of Bad Boys) as far as buddy action/comedies go.

This movie had some cool and impressive fight scenes in it. The fight with the Brazillian geurillas was quite well done, ellicited some oohs and ouch's

This movie should easily earn a sequel ($18.5 million opening weekend US).

I quite enjoyed the movie. Definitely an over-the-top action flick, but if you don't expect this going in, you don't have any background. The acting and humor was good (well Haille Berry didn't impress me much with the variable accent) and the story was decent. Definitely a worthy way to spend an hour and a 3/4.

The ending certainly left things open for a sequel.

That total, while number one at the box office, I found weak, I hope word of mouth keeps it going because it was better than a number of other movies from the summer, The Hulk, LXG, even Daredevil!

Another note - no doubt everyone's noticed the positively FLAT movie sales of the past few months. With occasional exception (P.o.t.C. being one of them.), the movies from July onward have had very poor box office sales. I cannot recall if this is the seasonal trend, or just something this year, but I could swear it's seasonal. Look to April-May and November-December as the months when truly big box offices will sound out.

Also, assuming this movie is as good as people are saying, and expect the second week to be at least as big as the first, as word of mouth gets out.

I also saw it this weekend. I had thought I was seeing this when I went to see Once Upon a Time in Mexico last week. I should pay more attention to details. Anyway, i was expecting a movie similar to Romancing the Stone and it delivered. I thought Walkins character could have been more extreme, but otherwise all of the characters were fun and entertaining.

I was sitting there watching the movie and it had had a few plot/character twists and I was thinking of Romancing the Stone and thought they needed one more twist with the main character group. No sooner did I finish my thought when the fruit scene came. Good mindless adventure movie.
