The Sage speaks re: Blade Barrier

Unless.. ahem.. both the experienced player AND the experienced DM didn't notice that it took a full round to cast.

Not that this would ever happen.

Out of curiosity - approximately how many times did this never happen? :)

I've found that as soon as the cleric gets anti-life barrier he is an virtually invulnerable firing platform.

Wind wall+antilife+if I'm facing spellcasters spell resistance, and I easily get 1 round spells off left and right. Without boots of haste giving an extra spell action this will be harder to pull off in 3.5.

Can the cleric be dealt with sure, dispel magic, golems, undead, a good SR check etc. But vs many foes(MM style not NPCs) can't deal with it and are just meat..

Much better! In the 'current' incarnation it would probably be better named 'Meat Grinder' or 'Lawnmower without Casing' - Vertical Only makes it much more of a Barrier.

There are probably still good combinations (Bull RUsh, Ring of the Ram, Gust of Wind, etc) to use it offensively, but it stops some of the cheese.

Or anything.

That's it, we're going to have to confiscate your trophies. You were spending too much time polishing the damn things anyways. Get some sunlight, man! :D

I'm polishing my trophies right now, IYKWIM, AITYD. Sheesh - years of playing 3e, and we've gotten it wrong every single time. Can you say "inadvertent house rule"?
