The Scarab

Riss comes back to the group and bows low to Delg.

"My name is Riss'tiq'chek, but feel free to call me Riss," he says and offers Delg a hand to shake.

He turns so as to address the whole group.

"Kobold and large rodent tracks. We shouldn't expect much of a fight out of these things if we can catch them in small groups," he announces and pats the handles of his aged weapons.

While he knew the heavens were a vast place, Delg had never thought he would actually meet any people from them, but thus far they had proven themselves to be open and to the point about things with him and he felt more than a little embarrassed about his outburst just moments ago.

As the female caller, explained quickly what manner of creature Riss was, Delg nodded as he tried to fully understand what she was saying.

"I'll be comin' with ye, but it's not fer th' treasure, although a waterskin would be nice if'n ye had one t' spare."

As soon as he had finished his request, Riss approached him and offered him his hand. Taking it and giving it a firm shake, Delg returned the bow was well.

"Me name be Delg, and it be a pleasure t' meet ye Riss. I'm hopin' ye didn' take th' desert rats comment t' heart about ye, as it was fer them I was aimin' it at."

Smiling as Riss patted his weapons confidently, Delg turned back to face the female caller.

"No worries on th' skin, as I'm t' be thinkin' we'll be done before my thirst gets t' me."

Osric tosses Delg his spare waterskin.

"You might as well take it. If I start to run short, I can always make myself more."

He looks over at the pyramid, then back at his companions. "Right, we standing here chatting all day, or shall we go and find the beetle?"

"I'll second that, let's stop bumping gums and get in there. The sooner we do, the sooner we'll be heading out and back to Ram-Tet."

Nodding his head in thanks as he secures the skin as best he can, Delg falls in behind the others trying to stay out of their way, but still be able to react should the situation call for it.

"Right. T'ckiticiboo or whatever yer name is, you may as well drop us off on top of the pyramid and save us the climb. Once we're inside, circle the area and be ready to pick us up when we come running out - hopefully, with the scarab, and not with a hundred kobolds or some giant lizard god snapping at us."

Khulmbanos shoulders his pack and rechecks his crossbow.

OOC: Sorry for the delay! I was preoccupied with something and I wasn't sure how I wanted to run the 'encounter portion' of this adventure online. I wanted to do something classicly dungeon crawlish for this bit at least...

The group decides to head into the Pyramid Ruins together, and Tchikkatlikkit drops you off as quietly as possible near the dusty entrance to the ancient structure.

With weapons readied you all begin moving quietly towards the shadowed entryway. It's dark inside, but there is still enough sunlight shining in to see that the entry vestibule opens into a room just 15' into the pyramid. As you start to advance down the corridor, 3 small reptillian figures peer out at you, blinking at the light! They begin shouting to each other in a strange guttural language and ready their weaponry...crude spears and strange crescent-shaped swords.

Casandra, Delg, Hrememlan and Riss are quickest to react!

------------------OOC--------------------------
each square is 5' on the map above. You guys can be anywhere in the corridor. We'll just figure it out as it goes along.

Here's the initiative order:

Casandra (roll 16)(+6 initiative)=22
Delg (roll 19)(+2 Initiative)=21
Hremelan (roll 17)(+3 initiative)=20
Riss (roll 13)(+3 initiative)=16
Kobold Sentries (roll 16)(+0 initiative)=16
Ashan (roll 9)(+4 initiative)=13
Khulmbanos (roll 8)(+3 initiative)=11
Osric (roll10 )(+1 initiative)=11

Please post 2-3 rounds worth of what you would like to do in this combat. Don't worry if your initiative hasn't come up yet and someone hasn't posted their plan.. just post away and we'll sort it out later!

Casandra

I suspect Casandra wouldn't be in front, rather Riss, Osric &/or Ashan would be. Not being in front, she would have her crossbow prepared. If possible she would get off a shot at the kobolts. If the others charge into the room, or if it becomes otherwise inappropriate to shoot her crossbow, she wood sling it over her back, take up her morning star & shield & advance, engaging in combat if targets are available.

With her crossbow, she's +3(1d8) AC 16
W/mace, she's +2(1d8)+1 AC 18

Hremelan will more than likely be at the rear of the party. That being the case, the first thing he does will be to hide behind one of the bigger party members (hopefully gaining a cover bonus to AC) and draw his sling. He will attempt to use his sling to it's best effect and he will try not to fire into a melee fight if he can help it.
