The Secret of Bone Hill - your experiences?

I ran this for two groups. It was a blast. Most of one group died due to the ghouls. The second group was too high a level and walked all over the adventure - except for the Deck of Many Things. I remember the names of two of the PCs in the first group for some reason - both elves - Foxpar and Bloody Chiclets. Boy, it's been 23 years. I enjoyed it a lot. Never got to run Assassin's Knot though.

Priestly Secrets (Dungeon Issue #71)

The other adventure that fits into the whole Restenford environs is titled Priestly Secrets from Dungeon issue #71. I ran this adventure for a group after I converted it to 3E. I'm planning to update it to 3.5 and make a bunch of changes to fit it into my Ptulus campaign.

Len's relatively reticent about fans, from what I gather: some folks @ DF courted him for awhile, I think, before he was willing to talk about doing L4, etc. If you check in the DF threads, IIRC, one or two posters are the main contacts with Len, and I'm sure they could answer Qs (esp. if you post in the thread itself).

Yeah ... somehow I picked up on that when reading the posts somehow (which is why I said I was HALF tempted).

I only ran this once, when I stayed a weekend at a friend's place and I had 2 players each running 2 chars and me as DM. I have dim memories that L1 went okay, but then some guy who was supposed to be a big badguy in L2, they mugged him at a bar for NO REASON and somehow killed him, even though he was level 9 and they were level 2 and 3.

Only now I can't find the guy in question in the module so now I'm not sure WHAT happened. ^^;;
