The shared experience of D&D adventures

Just a comment on replayability of adventures. I don't mind playing through an adventure more than once as a player but I am strange that way.

I may know what lies beyond yon door in module X but the other players do not and the fun for me is watching how they cope. I've been through one adventure 5 times as a player and in a given encounter, I seen 5 different solutions to the unfolding situation. Which means that even if I know what is coming, how the party deals (or not deals) with the unfolding events is what makes the experience 'fresh' for me.

Another quirk of mine is that I can totally divorce player knowledge from my character's knowledge. I may know that a monster will ambush the first person to open a door, but if I am playing a character who would normally be the first in the door, I am first in and get to be the chew toy for the waiting monster.

My mind is not what is was and even if I been through an adventure before, except for some highlights I remember, I don't remember everything and I still get surprised because I don't remember that part.

Therefore, adventures have replayability value to me.

I, and many like me, don't have the luxury of having more than one campaign to choose from. I can't even fathom having a player in my group who has time to play in someone else's campaign, even if he could find one.

Really? I was managing to DM one group and play in another twice a week for quite some time. I know that of my six players, five play in other games as well. Maybe it's because we do OpenRPG, so travel time is not as big of a deal.
