The Shield

Yeah, Julian on the strike team is Claudette's idea and a disaster in the making. Tina would be better, and she's all sorts of mess.

And yeah, Kevin Hiatt fits in great, much better than Army ever did.

So who thinks Shane will make it to next season. I would have initially though he'd be back for sure, but I heard somewhere that the next season will be the last, so the I think the writers might have an easier time offing him. If he does get killed/ leave I will be sad (I think Walton Goggins has done a brilliant job with the character.)

I also started thinking that when the show does end, it would be cool if Ronnie kills Vic. I'd like his character to be seen as more of a behind the scenes manipulator than a two dimensional follower.

Wow. Great episode. It looks like the s*** is going to hit the fan next week. I don't see how they wrap up this story line without somebody dying. (I'm thinking Shane.) This is going to get ugly.

Nightfall, you were dead right about Aceveda's new "friend." The guy is flat out evil.

Man. Don't screw with Billings. That was cold. Dutch kind of brought it on himself to certain degree but that was flat out cruel. I have to wonder what is going to go down between him and Dutch now. I've got a feeling that something very bad and very ugly is going to happen between those two before the show wraps up.

Shane is dead at this point - he just doesn't realize it yet. Revealing Mackey's big score to his mob girl has set things on a path that will be messy and result in many deaths, and Shane is certain to be a body soon. His version of the story left a lot out though, and Shane is stupid and clumsy enough that I have a feeling that the true story will come out eventually, and his mob buddies won't be happy about the deception.

Wow, finale was kind of disappointing for me. It would have worked much better as the episode leading up to a finale. We didn't get a whole lot of resolution on anything. They're defiantly setting things up for next season.

Probably the weakest finale of all six seasons for me.

Yeah very weak, sad because i'm sure it was a good episode, but i felt so led astray afterwards. It felt like it was a giant setup episode and there was no payoff, at least not until next season. With the way the direction was going, I expected Shane and Vick to meet up somewhere. And hten the leader of the striketeam was pretty mmuch fired so quickly, when it seemed he was really making process.

I was a little surprised that Shane made it through till the end of season. I am glad that he did. Walton Goggins has been nothing short of brilliant this season. He really stood out in a superb cast.

All in all, I did like the final episode of this season. I certainly wasn't as climatic as last seasons but I did not look at it as a "finale". I looked at it as more of an intermission (although it is going to be a LONG freaking intermission) that sets up everything for an act 2.

*hoping this counts as one*

Walton has done exceptional work this season. If he doesn't get some hard looks by other shows, other networks or people, they are truly missing a commodity here.

As for this season's finale, yeah it was weak in terms of the ones we've had before. I think Hiatt's problems is he was trying too hard and not being enough street about what you can do with what you got. It's sad to see him go, especially since I felt like he'd become a valuable player and team member. But that's the way it goes.

What I DID like was the end. In the end, we see that Vic Mackey will always do things his way, come hell or high water. Whether this means he's still got a job is semi-debatable. But now, with Aceveda backing him, (and that extra blackmail leverage) chances are good Vic Mackey will be around for one more season/shift.

Billings proved to be an ass. I mean I thought he had potential, then he blows it all down the tubes. Here's hoping his lawsuit finds a nice crapper to sit in.

Round and Round we go, with Dutch, Dani and Tina. I just wonder...what is going to happen now that it appears Dani and Dutch might actually get around to hooking up. Tina is probably going to be pissed as hell, but honestly considering her choices, it's pretty obvious to me she'll barely make it in Farmington any more. My thoughts, transfer.

I too will admit I kept hoping Shane and Vic would duke it out, but now I have something else to look forward to with Vic and Shane. One of these two will not live to see the end of season seven.

Overall while season five was a bit of a snore, six proved its moments time and again. The ending, unlike five, didn't do much for me. But then again, we have a lot of road to cover before the end of The Shield.

Truly while not always the best show out there, when it's game is on, it's like Lebron James, or Sidney Crosby on.

Worst episode of the season.

Vic's 'redemption' was way too quick and way to clean.

Shane's 'heroism' while standard for Shane, the whole methodology of it, i.e. not getting ahold of Vic at ANY point, before or after, is so stupid I can't put it into words.

Still powerful stuff, but the weakest episode.

*three*
Joe,

Not sure if it's the weakest episode but it certain wasn't the finale we all were expecting. I can honestly say it does leave me anxious for season 7 and the series finale.
