The Temple of Elemental Evil: GM:DimDarknight

Juggernaut said:
"OK, first off... who are you?" says Lenwë as he looks at and gestures toward the human in the armor with the chain slung over his shoulder.

"My apologies for startling you. My name is Torillan, and I was merely passing by...well, at first, anyway". He eyes each of the assembled group.

Juggernaut said:
"And we shall certainly have luck on our side being as we have come together in a setting such as this. Surely Olidimmara shall smile upon us."

Waiting until Lenwe finishes speaking, Torillan smiles again and bows his head reverently. "Indeed he has, my friend. Indeed he has. For I am here to offer my services, such as they are. While you all look quite capable of handling whatever dangers may arise on your travels, I may just be of some assistance for your endeavor, should you have me. What say you?"

Lysienne smiles warmly in greeting to both newcomers. "Belrin Beck! My my... I believe this is the first time I've ever met anybody who's in some of the songs I sing to tavern drunkards," she says with a demure smile to the gnome. In fact she's distinctly unimpressed by such a very minor personality, semi-famous at best, but it never hurts to flatter people a little.

She turns to Torillan. "I'm sure I'd be happy enough to have you along. You look to have a fair sword-arm, and I'm not too worried whether you're trustworthy or not. After all, we'd all be fools if we put trust in some disreputable types we ran into at a shrine to the Laughing Rogue, no? I certainly hope nobody has any ideas about trusting me, it wouldn't do at all," she says in an off-hand fashion, with a wry grin dimpling her cheeks.

Tem sighs in frustration at Lysienne's speech. "Oi." Nothing quite like someone admitting they're untrustworthy right after you've admitted to trusting them.

Halbrom Starforge, Male Dwarf Wizard

“As Lysienne says, you’re welcome to join us Torillan. We could use some more muscle at least, and you’ll do as well as any other...better since you’re offering your services before we need them,” Halbrom remarks after Tem’s sigh, chuckling a little as he guesses the cause.

Gazing at the newcomer for a few moments as if assessing his mettle, Darkwing chimes in as Halbrom finishes speaking, “He’s a big one alright!”

Egoz quickhands, Halfling spellthief

The giant seems fine to me
Says Egoz and stares at Torillan
My worry is about this one
he points to Belrin and say
Master Belrin, I'm sure there are many years of adventuring behind you and we will be honored if someone like you will accompany us to Hommlet but can you handle another adventure?

"Oh, that's different," Lysienne rebukes Tem playfully, turning the full force of her dazzling smile on him. Like I said, only a fool would trust some disreputable character he meets at a shrine to the Laughing Rogue. But to you, I'm a disreputable character you met on the road. Whole different kettle of fish." As she says the last sentence she composes her expression into mock sincerity, her erstwhile playful smile twinkling on in her eyes.

To Lysienne: “Such lovely thing to say dear lady.”

To Egoz: “I’m done with quests and such. A few simple bandits would be easy to deal with, but a dozen might prove a problem even for me. Most of my magical gear is gone and my spellbook was stolen. All I have left is a few odds and ends. I assure you, I have no intentions of dropping dead any time soon.”

Belrin grabs his bags.“Ready?”

Tem sputters and coughs a bit before returning the smile. "Last time I listened to the likes of that, I ended up —," he pauses and shakes his head, leaving whatever he was going to say unsaid, then nods at Belrin, "Ready enough."

Halbrom Starforge, Male Dwarf Wizard

“Surely, I could use a mug of ale to quench the thirst of the road, so let’s be on our way to somewhere I might acquire one,” Halbrom replies, a wide smile forming at the thought of ale, “Lead the way Egoz!”

Lenwë smiles at Lysienne, having heard such flattery , as she gave to Belrin, several times before. And the way she toys with Tem also amuses him.

"Welcome to everyone, it shall be a pleasure to travel with each of you. Those that have yet to give to the Laughing God, may want to do so before we leave, as we can use all the good luck with which he will bless us. Then let's be on our way. I hear the tavern calling my name!"
