I wonder how much damage an elf would take hitting an invisible wall of force at mach 2?

Now where did I put those caltrops?
By my calculations on average 6670 points, using the falling damage rules.
However, I would rule that the wall takes the same damage. The key question does the elf decelerate enough to affect the elf behind him.

Hmm, seem like we need and terrain following radar for the elf army.
I wonder that is the stopping distance for this beast?

SRD def: A wall of force spell creates an invisible wall of force. The wall cannot move, it is immune to damage of all kinds, and it is unaffected by most spells, including dispel magic. However, disintegrate immediately destroys it, as does a rod of cancellation, a sphere of annihilation, or a mage’s disjunction spell. Breath weapons and spells cannot pass through the wall in either direction, although dimension door, teleport, and similar effects can bypass the barrier. It blocks ethereal creatures as well as material ones (though ethereal creatures can usually get around the wall by floating under or over it through material floors and ceilings). Gaze attacks can operate through a wall of force.

wall takes no damage from mach 2 elf....would have a nice mural painted on it though so everyone would know where the invisible wall would be

Doing rough estimations, each arrow would hit about 50-100 times harder than an assault rifle bullet. Using google-fu and more rough estimations and assuming the arrows are fired at close enough range before the arrow's larger wind resistance drastically drops its velocity, each arrow could probably penetrate 6-8 feet of solid steel or probably enough to punch through a 10-15 or more foot thick stone wall.

Forget the arrows, an elf weighs over 100 lbs. He or she will do far more damage. BEST USE OF AN ELF EVER.

How the heck did you find this particular thread to rise from the grave.

In any case, thank you. That's brilliant. Bwahahahahaha.

And, yes, I love the idea that elven armies can basically travel that fast. Sure, there might not be that many elves, but, when you make them mad! Look out!

((Yes, yes, I know Light Step is PC only, I don't care - the mental image of elven armies sweeping across the landscape like this energy wave, only to stop on a dime at where ever they need to be just makes me really, really happy.))

I'm flattered that your very first ENWorld post is to contribute to the Machinations in this thread! I'd totally forgotten about the thing.

Not surprisingly, WOTC hasn't errata'd it yet, despite how broken it obviously is.
