One more reminder:

Each character has an heirloom item. This is a Masterwork item of some kind. It can be a weapon, armor, or other piece of equipment. If you want something nonstandard, please email me off board with any questions.
My Heirloom Item is Misha's masterwork greatsword

I want to remind all of the players in this game if you don't have Campaign Cartographer 2 to please download the free viewer. I am going to post the map tomorrow, and I need to make sure all of you will be able to see it.

Thanks all.

Yeah, unfortunately Profantasy has decided to leave us poor neglected Mac users out in the cold without a viewer of our own.

Would it be possible to email me a PDF of the map, or a Jpeg, TIFF, GIF, screen-capture, anything?... :\

BTW, are we using the Weapon Equivalencies optional rule from p.27 of the DMG?

Wow I didn't realize there was no Mac version of the viewer. Sorry about that. I'll do my best to come up with some jpegs or something that should suffice, and I can answer any questions you might have if the map's not clear (this is true for everyone, not just Ambrus).

As for the weapon equivalencies, I don't have the 3.5 DMG (I didn't feel like buying it since I had bought the 3.0 DMG less than a year earlier), and since it's not in the SRD, I'm not sure how those work. Could you post the basics?

I have pretty much settled on the Starters and Alternates for the game. Just waiting on one more character concept, and we'll be done with this phase of game prep.

Also, for each of you, decide where your character is from. It makes a difference when we get started. If you want to wait until you have a look at the map, that's fine. I have posted a little something about each of the kingdoms of Derev in a previous post, so use that as a guideline. I can post more about the kingdoms and cities a little later if you think that would help you decide.

The Map V1.0

I have attached a zipped map image in CC2 format. If you need jpegs, I have them ready, and I'll email them directly to anyone that needs them. Note: I am not going to keep the jpegs updated because it's a pain in the rear. Just make sure to ask me any questions about the maps if the need arises.

Hmm. Well, all I need is an out of the way rural area suitable for the farming of grains next to a forest. So how about right here?... :)

It's essentially a backward engineered 3.0 rule that allows the use of similar appearing weapons of different sizes to be used by smaller/bigger races without penalty (gnomes can used human sized longswords as greatswords, humans can used halfling sized short swords as daggers, ect.)

Try attaching that as a thumbnail... it's not working when I try to follow the link.

Yeah, as long as there is an equivalent, I suppose that would be fine. So a small sized character could use a med-sized Short Sword as a Longsword (same dmg as small Longsword), and a med-sized Hand Axe as a Battle Axe (same dmg as small Battle Axe). The character would need to have proficiency in both weapons in question for this to work in my view.

Wouldn't the proficiency just be in the Longsword/Battle Axe? Considering that those are basically what the Halfling sees the weapon as?
