The Top Five Underrated Prestige Classes

1) Ghostwalker. It has the serious makings of a Recurring Villain aspect to it, as well as makes for a good PrC for a solo game. Designed for that guy the PCs screwed a long way back, like Mel Gibson in Payback, like Clent Eastwood in a few of his films; the kind've guy you don't want to leave for dead.

I couldn't agree more. A ranger (that I hate :)) in one of my solo games has been heading in that direction for the last 6 or 8 levels, and I can't wait to see what he does with it when he finally takes the PrC.

K! Buddy! I havn't seen you in ages. :) How's the PH pimping? :)

Xarlen,
the only problem with a bard taking the Spellsword PrC is the need to know all martial weapons and all armours.
If he took a level in fighter, then no problems, but a straight bard can't do it.

The Eldritch Warrior from BOEM2 is fantastic and I think the reason it isnt mentioned often is that some people don't have access to it, or think of it in terms of a bard PrC.

I really am starting to come around to the Loremaster.

After 7 level of loremaster you should pretty much have all the languages in the PHB, be only 7 total spells/day behind the sorcerer (various levels) and have the nice ability of finding obscure lore. If I had a character pursue a loremaster it would be a great way to introduce new campaigns and adventures without the characters having to travel to kingdom come and back.

I am definetly impressed by the Thief Acrobat. If you had a more OA style campaign and used tactics like trip and disarm and using strange battle locations then a character who took this would be at a great advantage.

My last class is the Animal Lords. This is not something I would suggest to players or even do myself since it seems to separate the person from the party but it is good for some NPCs.

I hate loremasters, I think they're only good if mixed in a munchkin type way:D

Thief acrobat is pretty neat, but many strait rogues can easily outdo one.

Animal lords: They could be good but...:o

I'm only good at destroying things, not finding the good in things oftenly destroyed:p

Yeah, no kiddin'. :) Where you been?

Lurkin'. Ain't seen a lot of threads in here that says 'Spank me'. That, and College, and loitering elsewhere online. :)

OK I guess. I've spent most of this time with my head burried between the pages of City of the Spider Queen, preparing for an adventure.

Really? What's your thoughts on it? I didn't think you were the published adventure kinda guy. :)

The etherealness + the shadow walk ability means that they can always get away.

As a DM I love this class.

I won't even ask.

Oh, man I just love it so far. Of course, that might be a totally different story when I run it, but wow, it's just set up great. Deadly as hell fights, interesting NPCs, deadly as hell fights, cool locales, deadly as hell fights, nice use of monster templates, oh, and deadly as hell fights.

I can't stress enough how nasty combat is in this thing. You know all those threads that pop up about how if you're fighting and making all sorts of noise in a dungeon that you're gonna bring down the wrath of the whole damn place? Well there you go. Make too much noise in some places, and you won't just be fighting four drow guards and one drow evoker, but you'll be fighting the entire complex within a matter of minutes. Believe it or not, there's actually a part in the module where if you're not careful, you could end up fighting off an entire city, not to mention their entire slave force as well.

Evil. I love it. :D

That I can respect. Certainly teach the PCs that this ain't no little dungeoncrawl. :)

Really? Why do you say that?

*shrug* You just sound rather creative with stuff you do, so I figured you made your own adventures? :)
