i tend to stik to the core rules. my house rules are just an extension of the core rules- bending them a lil- nothing earth shattering- just things to keep thegame moving.
Hit Points/Mortal Points: Not too bad. I'm a fan of these type of alternate rules, actually. I despise clerical healing that makes a near dead person into a fully functional person in 2 seconds. Ugh.
Limit Breaks: Not a fan of these. If you're trying to do something modelled after Final Fantasy, you've succeeded. However, you undermine the flavor of what you're doing with LB's like: "Travolta's Uncontrollable Hideous Disco".
Graduated Stat Increases: Hmmm. While this may have been a good idea for 2E style stats, I don't think a 19 in X characteristic is such a bad thing anymore. Not sure if there is a need for this.
Firearms: I think firearms should be more deadly. I would suggest increasing the size of the crit range by 1 or 2 points. Let the players realize however - if they use 'em, you're going to use 'em.
That's it for now, I'll check out the others later.
Given that I use a mortal points system, I really didn't want to increase the threat ranges of firearms. Still, to balance them with crossbows, I might consider it -- even in the face of higher damage and range.
As for limit breaks, what do you reccommend for the names?
