I just picked up the first HC collection and loved it.
Reading in the notes (from memory here), I believe the soldiers knocking over the kid wasn't in the script -- just something Hitch threw in to show that everyone's not immediately hero-worshipping Iron Man and he thought it was funny.
Lions Gate has worked out a deal with Marvel to create direct-to-video animated projects. The first one is The Avengers, which is actually going to be based on The Ultimates. Expect it next year. Wonder how much it'll be changed.
I hope we never learn the "truth" about Thor.
