In any thread about RPGs, someone will always improperly use an apostrophe to pluralize.

Word 2007 made me do it. I know how pluralize, I fixed it now.

I had a thread a long time ago about the fantasy equivalent of "Joe."

IMC, if someone asks the name of an unimportant NPC, like a random guard, it's usually "Fred". Dunno why.

BTW, it works for any mixed-blood combo you want...Tiefling Paladin of Heironeous and Aasimar Priest of Hextor as half-brothers, anyone?

Adventuring is always for a band of strangers. There are no Earp brothers or any room for family business in RPGs.

For a one-shot game, a couple of my players rolled up blonde, busty twin paladins named Charity and Chastity. It was great. One player had never (and would never) play a paladin. And the other, who usually played paladins, had never (and would never) play a female character. But just for that adventure... it happened.

For what it's worth, I've had many family combos at my table.

* There is always one guy who thinks he is the party badass, but really isn't. (Example: A Psy-Warrior in the same party as an Artificer, Druid, Cleric, and Wizard).
* NPC Children encountered anywhere are highly dangerous individuals. Kids are creepy.
* NPC "hotties" encountered anywhere but the tavern is either a succubus or something evil and dangerous.
* Four Dwarf minimum in every tavern.
* a 4e PC Fighter can expect to be bloodied at least once every other round (or more often)
* a Mage who gets hit twice in one encounter will make a big deal out of it, even if everybody else in the party is half dead (Lately that is me. I mean, its the tanks job to get hit... not mine!)
* Every group has at least one obnoxious rules lawyer.

Heh. I got one player to listen to his talking dagger last session and it convinced him to put on the belt of change gender.

Yeah, ha ha ha. Real funny...

Ya mention to the DM, "DM, I'm having some trouble getting into the role of my drow sorcerer... how about a curse to change him into a halfling?".

What do I get? A fricking female halfling... like I can relates to being a 3ft 5in hotty.
