Don't know much about the comic personally, but an actual TV Series based off zombies? Where do I sign up?

FYI - The voice did not sync up with the visuals in the video below, not sure if that was my PC or how the video was uploaded. You might be able to find a better version (or maybe you'll have no problems watching this) somewhere else.

The Walking Dead

The official Walking Dead trailer is gorgeously gory

I've been following the comic for a while.

IMO it's zombies done right. The zombies aren't the real focus of the story, it's the survivors and the personal changes they go through over time.

If the series has a fraction of the feel and characterization of the comic, then I'll be a diehard viewer.

Full disclosure: I am a police officer and I live fairly close to Cynthiana KY (where the story opens), so I probably over relate to the main character.;)

Of note: the comic pulls absolutely *no* punches. Bad things happen a lot.

Quoted for truth...It's downright brutal at times. I read the first 3-4 and didn't really get into it. Then I decided to give it another try and ended up reading from issue 4 to the current (75) in about 4 days. As said above, if the characters are half as interesting as the comics than this will kick all kinds of decomposed posterior.

That is the sense I get from watching the preview. It seems like a typical drama (in a good way) what raises familiar questions "what is going on here?", "where is my family?", etc... Oh yeah, and theres zombies in there too (almost like a second thought). Which makes it all the more appealling to me.

I'm a huge fan of the comic, and I'm honestly not sure how certain scenes are going to play out on screen. There's definitely going to be some backlash from family groups, that's for sure. It will be interesting to see who is credited as a regular and who isn't.

I'm a little interested to see how many issues each episode will span. With only six episodes in the first season, six issues/episode would leave the show at a very interesting stopping point.

I think that is deliberate on the part of the designer. While at some parts it seems like they used the dialogue, in others it is definitely voice-over.
