Whenever you gain a level that has features with parenthesis, such as Primal Champion (A) and Foe Slayer (B), you may only choose one of those features to benefit from.

On reflection I've settled for Rage B, although without a lack of feedback it may be a mistake. *grumbles*
I've also moved it from a 1/4 caster to a 1/3 caster.
 

I feel like the logic here is to make a class that gets portions of both the parent classes, but without being restricted to the lower-level tier abilities like a ParentA X/ ParentB Y multiclass would be? Plus getting features like ASIs and extra attacks at their appropriate levels? Hopefully I'm correct here.

I'd leave multiclassing at 1/3, since baseline 5e doesn't have any progressions other than full, 1/2, 1/3, and none.

That's fair...plenty of class combinations won't have their subclass choice at 3rd level, after all.

Is your approach for designing these to hand out the subclass abilities for each parent at the intended level, put in ASIs at 4,8,12,16,19, and then fill out the dead levels with level appropriate abilities from the parent?

I'm curious to see how you approach caster/caster hybrids. Spell slots are obvious, but how do you restrict spells known/prepared?
 

Pretty much yeah.

Caster/Caster depends upon the casters. 1/3|1/2 will require more work than, say, 1/3|1 (in which case I'd just use 1/2).

As a rule of thumb, if it's based on a stat, I leave it be, otherwise I half it.
 

Looking specifically at the class, I'd say it looks pretty balanced, no real combination of class features that are too strong in synergy. Getting rid of fighting style was a good idea. Might be a bit strong from 3-5, ranger-hunter abilities add extra attacks, which synergize nicely with rage and reckless attack. I'd personally halve the number of rages per day, or at least make it barbarian rages - 1.
 

Currently it's about 2 less than the Barbarian proper, with some levels where it's 3 iirc (afb atm). I'll look into levels 3-5.
