The Wizards boards new look. Opinions?

I can agree here, and IMO what you are seeing there is the result of a higher signal-to-noise ratio than on other forums, coupled with the fact that they are highly successful forums, with possibly twice the membership we have here. The result is a higher percentage of posts like those, coupled with just plain MORE of all posts in general. There are still some real gems in there, but it takes a bit of sorting.

over 4 times as many users.

WotC has a little over 99000 users compared to 22000 here.

Yeah, but they're not all into D&D. There are also card games and stuff like that on the same boards. I'm not sure the average player of Neopet or GI Joe is also interested in D&D.

The content on the enworld forums is like fine wine, and the wizards forums content is like cheap beer. You can have alot of fun out of both if you try.

Spoony Morris worked hard on the upgrade, I think he did a great job. :D

Um. Now he's enjoying all the *cough* rewards for his time and effort; tons of money from wizards' generous paycheck, and lavish praise from all the friendly posters over there... :\

Oh, I did try, about 5,000 posts worth. The WotC boards were very different the first year or so that 3ed came out. There has been a steady rate of decline even before 3.5 came out IMO. The WotC boards are generally more geared towards crunch.
