The Wonders of XCrawl

Keeper of Secrets

First Post
Has anyone played? It really is a great game. My group and I played for about two months last year and had a lot of fun - even the people who normally don't plike dungeon crawls. The only drawback is that it takes a LONG time to set everything up and give it the right flare. In a week I am taking them through the next set of dungeons (yes, its been almost a year since we played).

I guess I would liek to know if anyone else has played it and if they find it kind of hard to come up with numerous levels of critters, traps and puzzles.

I heard from several people it's really great, but I think sales were not so stellar. The concept seems interesting though.

I absolutely love the premise - for me the only drawback was the setting - quasi-modern US with a Greek pantheon? I ditched that and substituted the Warhammer world, sensing that if this world could spawn Blood Bowl, then it could spawn XCrawl.

My only real critique (which fits in with the US/Greek pantheon) is the main book has so much history of the world/fluff that I would like to have seen more crunchy bits than fluffy bits. But then again, like I said, I was not overly thrilled with the background.

But the people at Pandahead are some of the greatest, friendliest people in the industry. And Brenden LeSalle, the guy who wrote it, is one of the most exciting GMs I have ever played with.

An Xcrawl Story Hour? You have got to be kidding me! I am so on this one.

I have played a little Xcrawl. Seems like ti could be a great diversion. I want to get the new rulebook and setup a few sessions as one-offs at some point.

Pshaw! So you aren't running through a standard tourney dungeon, big deal. It's a fair bit of fun and a great story hour.
