I hope something called "Thievery" include pick pocketing (sleight of hand) too...
what i don't like is that is a mandatory skill for the rogue, and if i want to play an honest light fighter with no interest in traps or other guys purse's?

We really should wait to see what the rest of the class looks like.

I have a feeling there is a reason for the pigeon-holing early on.

I'd agree with the divisions of uses noted above, except the obvious lake of a deception skill. It'll likely be:

Thievery: anyone can pick pocket and find traps, but lock pick and disable traps for trained only.

Stealth: anyone can do either, but there will likely be some cool trained only use, maybe a hide in plain sight or vanish thing like the Warlock.

According to the DDXP rules doc, thievery covers 'disable traps, open locks, pick pockets, and perform other sleights of hand'

I'm reading through that pdf now, and there's nothing about thievery.

It's not in the 2 page thing, but in a 5 page thing that I don't believe they printed enough of cause it wasn't handed out in any game, but I have a scan of it.
