Thievery Skill

Why? Just because you have it doesn't mean you have to use it.

I could see finding traps as using thievery or perception, whatever is higher. After all, they have said that they have been aiming for challenges that can be countered by multiple skills.

RP wise, finding a trap by perception would be "ah hah, I see that pressure plate!" while finding it with thievery would be "let me see... what would a sneaky rat do to guard his vault? Probably stick a trap in front of it...oh, I bet there is a trigger on the floor somewhere..."
