Thieves' World Player's Manual = SWEET!

I picked up the Thieves' World Player's Manual at GenCon (signed by Robert Schwalb, Gary Astleford AND LYNN ABBEY!). Woohoo...

Due to an unforseen addiction to Anachronism, I was too busy to read the book while at the con. Then work called... and I had to go direct to D.C. from Indy for a week of work and meetings. ::stupid work::

I finally started unpacking my loot from GenCon this weekend... and there's that TW Player's Manual looking all sad and lonely, so I start reading it. My hats off to the design team. Excellent job translating TW to d20. I wasn't sure it was possible, but the flavor is right... and the magic system is perfect.

I haven't checked the boards since before GenCon... so I don't know if there was the usual question and answer thread. If not, feel free to ask questions, I would be happy to answer them as best I can.

Here are the main headings in the Table of Contents...

Chapter One: A Santan Primer (overview of Sanctuary)

Chapter Two: Cultures and Backgrounds (Cultures from Aurveshan to Wrigglie... and Backgrounds from Academic to Soldier)

Chapter Three: Character Classes (New Classess Include: Assassin, Godsworn, Initiate, Mage, Noble, Priest, Ranger, Savant, Survivor, Witch)

Chapter Four: Prestige Classes (everything you would expect... from Blue Star Adept to Hell Hound)

Chapter Five: Skills and Feats (new skill: Gambling... and new uses for old skills)

Chapter Six: Supplemental Rules (Getting Hurt (Massive Damage, etc.), Reputation and Contacts)

Chapter Seven: Equipment and Resources (from weapons to drugs)

Chapter Eight: Sorcery (a magic system that scales from low magic to high magic easily... and fits with the flavor of TW)

Chapter Nine: Spells (I haven't made it this far yet)

Appendix I: Gods of Sanctuary
Appendix II: Character Glossary
