D&D 5E Things I like and dislike about 5e...

(I'm continually taken aback by little changes that I miss: are devils called 'fiends,' again, I was sure I saw entries under 'devil,' and are extraplanar critters permanently slain just for dying on the prime material, or did that final battle take place on an outer plane?)

Anything from the Lower Planes--demon, devil, daemonyugoloth, succubus, rakshasa--is a fiend. It's an umbrella category, like "dragon" or "humanoid."

I love the 5E game and the core books.
WOTC's nebulous plan for supporting the game and their lack of communication both confuses and frustrates me.

The communicartion is amazing compared to TSR. Back in 1990, they did not tell me the day-to-day plans of D&D, you just read about a product they will be releasing in however long an amount of time, or saw it on a shelf. What the hell did 3rd/4th Ed do to some of the fans of this game, come off as spoiled, petulant, throwing toys out of pram, entitled children.

It shouldn't be confusing. They've said quite plainly they aren't producing books with nearly the same frequency as previous editions because they feel it doesn't lend itself to sales over the long term, and will only make announcements when they have something to announce.

Whether you LIKE what they've said is a different story... but it by no means should be incomprehensible. It's fairly straightforward.
