D&D General Things I like in the new MM

Against my better judgement, I just bought a hard copy.....

I'm going to post the things I like... Some of these were likely in 2014 as well....

I like the little tables in some entries about how the monster could be used.
I like habitat and treasure being listed, even if I don't love the implementation of treasure.
I like the quotes, but I can't read most of them due to the funny cookie and size, alas.
I like the NPCs for the most part
I like rend for dragons, so I can describe it how I want.
I like almost all the art
I like the creatures that auto damage grappled opponents.
Each dragon seems to have one cool legendary action

Lots of the art makes the monsters much more alien, things we would not see here. Big fan.

Im getting mine today havent loved the 5.5 stuff so far, but maybe use the tougher momsters from the 2024 Monster Manual and 2014 PHB for PCs. Ramp up the danger.

I think the street date is February 18. But Wizards Play Network stores (is that the right term?) have 2 week early bird privileges. I would have mine now if it weren't from a shipping snafu with my FLGS.

That is the correct term. They call it WPN (which I aways read as "Weapon" instead of "Wizards Play Network", but you're right that is what it is).

We get to sell them as of Feb 4. It's a tiny little perk to put us only a million miles behind Amazon, instead of a million-and-one.

While I have some slight issues (like the ones I mentioned in the errata thread about the Red Dragon and Hobgoblin) I love the book a lot.
