Um...huh? What is crazy? That sounds like a perfectly human voice to me. Are you referring to how soft he pronounces the lyrics? Most russian songs I've heard sound like that. A very good singer though.

Sounds like a normal tenor to me. Though admittedly when he goes into the falsetto, it is indeed impressive. Very good range and lungs... but then again, he is singing opera......

Hmm ... I guess you have listened to more people hitting such high notes than I have. :) You are right that much of the rest sounds exactly like other Russian folk singing ... but the high notes? Never heard ANYTHING like than from a male. (And I have listened to quite a few ensembles singing 16th c. (etc.) madrigals and such with the official falsettos.)

BY the way Marley ... I don't think he is singing opera. I think it is just a folk song?

my apologies.. I meant he was singing in an operatic style.... I did more research into this guy.... turns out he is what they call a countertenor.

No worries my good sir, no worries. :) I did a little research into him the other night maself. Seems he is fairly popular in Russia.

I was listening to some Cradle of Filth when I came across this message. Wow. That's nutty, just plain nutty. Something got chopped off there, methinks ;):p

Now, back to Her Ghost in the Fog :]
