This is getting silly (my collection)

I'm not a 'big' RPG collector (although I do have a lot of D&D stuff), but recently my RPGs have been pushing out some of my boardgames to other shelving. Especially as I've been running AD&D, Pathfinder and 4E recently, and I have delusions of running Traveller, Call of Cthulhu and Trail of Cthulhu in the near future.

That's my main bookcase of RPG stuff, and it's missing a little - especially a lot of my 3.5E books which are currently in a box somewhere. I need to put a few of the AD&D books I've been reviewing of late or using in games back.

Increasing both my RPG collections and boardgame collections is proving really tricky to store them all!

Cheers!

Meanwhile, things get very silly once you look at how I store my boardgames and other stuff just to the side:

Wow. I've been to gaming shops that had less on their shelves.

Yeah, like my FLGS. (Not because I bought it all!) :)

One of the really, really silly things about me is I consider my RPG collection quite small. People like Ant Brooks (Echohawk) put my D&D collection to shame... and then there are collectors of a much wider range of RPGs.

(Echohawk lists 2212 items in his RPG collection on RPGgeek; I'm "only" at 726)

Cheers!

Space crunch

Time to do what I've done -- buy more shelving!

You might also want to see if you have games or books you no longer care for. You could sell/give them to friends and family; donate them to a local library, school, or charity; or sell them to used bookstores, on eBay, or to Noble Knight.

Even after thinning out my collection around a recent move, I've got two or so 6-ft. bookcases full of RPGs, one 50-gallon plastic trunk of board games, and four similar plastic crates full of related minis and toys. And that doesn't include the bookcase worth of binders with 30 years of worlds, characters, and session notes or the hundreds of files on my hard drives! (Unfortunately for me, I also collect swords, action figures, and comic books, but I'm fairly organized.) Good luck with storage, and happy gaming....
