This always confuses me so CRPG players are Dorks, but just computer game players are Geeks.

So is a being a Dork better or worse than being a Geek?

I'm not sure if I'm a Geek or a Dork. Is the pocket protector a requirement to be a Geek, or just an unfashionable Geek?

Well as long as they are not furries who write stories about thier alter-ego selves and various Star Trek characters.......

The irony of a video game magazine editor calling roleplayers dorks did not escape me. However, I had a thought after reading this. I'm pretty sure that there are more people who play console games than tabletop rpgs. This means that console games are more mainstream than TTRPGs, right? (I don't know about computer games; in any case I don't think Game Informer even covers them.) Certainly there's a lot of people who play both kinds of games, but there's a lot more people who play consoles who aren't roleplayers. The two questions this realization leads to are: (1) "How does this affect the console vs. computer wars?" and (2) "How does this affect the Geek Heirarchy?"

On second thought, it's probably not worth the trouble trying to answer those questions. I guess I'm just pissed that people can't just get along without calling each other names, or something.
