Thought on 3.5 (death of the splatbooks?)

I agree that there will likely be a 3e UA. I'm thinking that it will arrive about one to two years after 3.5, and it will likely compile lots of the crunchy goodness from supplements in between.

I would hope they stick in the Duelist and the Cavalier. They're fantasy staples. Might see the Weapon Master, too- its both in the splats and OA.

Prolly won't see any world specific prcs, even tho they defined them. Are you sure the Red Wizards will be in there? Isn't that FR?

Well, the original UA was almost like a replacement PHB. Not quite, but it redid the Paladin, added the Cavalier, Barbarian, and Acrobat (which was sort of a prestige class, I guess).

Anyway, quite honestly, I think 3.5 is going to have all new splatbooks to go with it.

There is a report on it in Dragon. They are including some of the camapign specific PrCs to show how a PrC can be campaign specific. I think the red wizard fits this bill. They have said its in there.

Um no. I am talking abut somthing completely different.

Whoops! My bad. With so many uses of 'Arcana Unearthed' and 'Unearthed Arcana' being thrown around in the same thread, I basically read one the same as the other. Ah, well. I guess it proves that we don't read by letter-strings, but by word shape recognition. Bleh.

While we may very well see a 3e UA, I doubt it's going to be called Unearthed Arcana just because of the confusion it would create. Hell, some of us get confused between "Spells & Magic" and "Spells & Spellcraft" which are two very different books! :D

I get confused between FFG-Fantasy Flight Games, and FFG-Fast Forward Games (or is that FFE-Fast Forward Entertainment?)

There are seven roles in which Prestige Classes will be seperated, and they'll probably only give one or two exemples of each, so I doubt there will be 22 prestige classes.

The 3.5 intro article in Dragon #304 already associates a few existing prestige classes with roles, and it's likely that other existing classes will be recycled for the exemples.

Race: The Arcane Archer and Dwarven Defender

Party Role: The Shadowdancer

Situational: The Loremaster

Iconic: The Assassin and the Blackguard

Game Function: The Spellsword

Transformation: The Dragon Disciple

The Race and Iconic roles have two different PrCs as exemples, which I feel is sufficient. So there's only a need for 4 more PrCs for the Party Role, Situational, Game Function and Transformation sections. Transformation virtually begs for a Druid-type PrC, but the other three roles are open to speculation. :)

Please tell me they're going to revise & clarify the enlargement ability of the DD?

J

I have no clue. but they do say that the DD is getting a bit of a revision and with that in mind I think they are revising the enlarge and may be adding some caster levels. But like most of my posts here, thats pure speculation. I am just saying that my speculations are usually spot on.
