Thoughts on Inzeladun

Grimhelm

Your last message got me to thinking. I am beginning to wonder, Vince, if we have just become to "high-brow" about the whole game. I mean, let's face it, in the old days we were more than content to whack bad guys and take their stuff. The game is about defeating monsters, taking their treasure, and leveling up so you can do neater and neater things. It was never all that much about story. It was never about a highly crafted game.

I wonder sometimes if we just went back to the basics whether or not an arch villain and a feeble story line would emerge. I mean, it's not like we really planned to have Grimhelm and Komaaks go at it for 5 years. You know?

And, I hate to admit this, but I liked 3E. I liked being a Christmas tree to a certain degree! Basically, the core appeal of the game is getting to do things you don't normally get to do in real life...

I think that is part of the appeal of Wings of War lately. Plus the Christmas tree effect of "levels" via Ace qualifications. We whack bad guys and level up to do neater and neater things.

I think you are right.

It's a thought. I think if we just play to kill stuff and take their crap a story will appear, especially if we are playing characters we really can get into.
