Re: it rocks

Shadowforce Archer just rocks. If you like spies and things like that, then purchase it.
As soon as I can convice some people around here that there is more to rpg's than d&d, I am going to run a spycraft game, but instead of using the shadowforce archer as is, i'm going to run it like its a darkmatter campaign (alternity setting for those who don't know it).
The psionics are awesome, they work like the Force in Star Wars, only better. I didn't take a look at the chemical monsters, but it sounds cool.
Purchase the book!!!
Well, I can't quite say that Shadowforce Archer rocks at this point, maybe when a couple more of the sourcebooks come out I'll change my mind.
Don't get me wrong, the book is gorgeous, and for a "pure" spy game, it serves wonderfully. The ideas presented are fleshed out nicely, with lots of stats at various power levels, making it very easy to tailor to any level of play...
Unfortunately, for me, I was hoping for more elements ala Darkmatter, or perhaps Conspiracy X. The mystics will be developed more in a following book, and though the psions are presented, it left me wanting more. The small writeup on "Chemical monsters" is nice, but I feel it could have been, well, more...
Personally, I wish they would have included more on the setting instead of all the details of the chambers. Where are the hotspots? where are the thrilling locations? where's the greater threat that the world is being protected against? or maybe I missed something in my first read...
I guess a few extra pages may have helped, perhaps upping the count from 256 to 320, and filling in the blanks. It's a good buy for the price, though not quite up to par as the Spycraft rules.
So until the rest of the books start hitting the market, I'll keep working on a Conspiracy X conversion to plug into Shadowforce archer... you can never have too many secret agancies working in the shadows...
