Thread Closing validation

Well, I see my thread on outrage on pricing was closed because it was too "Ptlous". When i noted I disagreed, was told that he was too busy to reopen it even though I didn't ask him to reopen it.

Are threads just closed because they touch a moderator's personal nerves or ? I mean sure, do what you have to do but at the same time let's not just start closing things because they're similiar to other threads.

If another moderator wants to open it, they can. I don't have time right now to close a half dozen related flame-filled threads, as I'm trying to finish my homework before I go to class tonight.

Leave the subject a couple days and let people digest the statements and opinions that they've come across and later discussion will generally be okay.

Oh, come on, Joe. I'm surprised at you. You of all people have been around here long enough to know that you don't call out mod decisions in public. Email the mod in question if you want more information on the decision.

I closed the thread because it's effectively a continuation of an earlier thread that got closed. You said it was closed "in error" which means you'd like it re-opened. Am I misreading anything?

Even if I did have the inclination to leave the thread open, I don't have the time to babysit it until it went down in flames like the other.

But I'd like to thank you for publicly calling me out on the matter after I responded to your private message.
