D&D 5E Tiamat?

Iconic fantasy settings yes, but using this on a setting like Dark Sun will not work without major adaptation. I would not bother to be honest. However, do imagine that Wizards will release similar adventure modules for other settings. It just happens that Tyranny of Dragons is specific to Forgotten Realms (this being the default official setting).

Well it will come down to how much time you have to convert HotDQ to another campaign setting, replacing NPC's with your campaigns NPC's and trying to get the proper area of operations set for a non FR campaign. I tried initially but this module is so knee deep in FR lore that I figured it just was not worth my time to try and cover all details that might come up.

Whats more, RoT is more involved in the FR setting then HotDQ was and thus to me, tryiing to convert to another setting just way to painful to attempt. On the other hand, I do like the Realms and perhaps should have stuck with the Realms initially. Plus coming back to the Realms has made my players happy campers too, now they want to check out Neverwinter, Waterdeep, Baldersgate, Shadow Dale and so on. Just as an FYI, I would strongly recommend not allowing feats for these modules or you will find the PC's overwhelming many of the encounters in these adventures.

I'm torn between using my first love Greyhawk or just running a 5e Forgotten Realms game. Decisions, decisions.

I think it will just be FR. I haven't messed with FR since the 1987 set but I don't have anything against it per se, just always preferred GH. Only problem is I haven't read the novels and my brother has read all the drizzt ones so he will be looking to correct my FR ignorance.

I'm only going to say this one time: THE BOOKS -AND WHAT HAPPENS IN THEM- HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH YOUR GAME SETTING!

There. I feel better.
