I'm familiar with the type- my Mom and a few other women in my family were convinced I was traveling towards Satan...despite the fact that I did (and still do) attend Church every Sunday.
I can't fight your battles for you, but if you're feeling brave someday, you might try pointing out some of the Christian Metal out there. Not all of it is "wussy"- Bloodgood was quite heavy for its time (the 80's), and some of the newer guys like POD know how to rock as good as anyone else in the game.
If that stuff isn't your speed, point out the bands that sing songs about ethics and social concience- IOW, anyone with a positive message.
