Good interview on Gamingreport.com too.

and I love the art in this book, remings me of THoT but different enough to be it's own. :D

I'm sure reading up about marshes makes one feel dirty for weeks.

Are you talking about the design notes I wrote for a Mystic Eye Games press release here?

The Village of Oester was definitely a very different project from The Hamlet of Thumble, but I tried to keep a similar way of describing things in detail and focusing on personalities. There is a darker and more sinister story though.

I hope you enjoy it!

I really enjoyed the Hamlet of Thumble and I'm sure looking forward this one! The artwork, story, and overall 'feel' strikes me an excellent work, although I can't put my finger on the exact reason I'm attracted to this particular series so strongly. Looking at the cover, I get that same tingle of excitment--the same way I felt a long time ago when I first saw "Sinister Secret of Saltmarsh" sitting on the store shelf. I knew it must be mine.

I just know what I like when I see it, and this is one I most definately like.

Thank you very much for the kind words! I try my best to put a lot of interesting details into each book. I don't know exactly how to describe the "feel" either, but I guess I attempt to weave personalities and plots together in an intricate fashion. I always look at motivation and attempt to find the good in even the most evil of characters. I also enjoyed the Saltmarsh series, too, but I think you'll find an entirely different story here.

Have you considered writing a review of The Hamlet of Thumble?

Yes, that was the interview I was talking about. I think the only way I won't like The Village of Oester, is if it's 8 illustrations and 92 blank pages that you can doodle on. :p

Text density remains high and there are dozens of art pieces commissioned specifically for the book. I count at least 10 pages worth of art in 1/4, 1/2, and full-page size illustrations, but it could turn out differently in print. That's not including the cover image.

Also, you'll find not only the primary adventure, but also 14 special encounters, parts of a town detailed, and a marsh environment described in this book.

Those are great Ed! Too bad you'll miss Halloween on the release. This looks like something fun to play on sppok night. :D I can't wait for this. :)

Funny thing, that was my original intention: to release it just before Halloween. It took longer though because this was a tough book to write. Hopefully, the extra work will show in the final product.

I'm sure it will, although maybe getting it a little closer to the holidays wil give this a really strong initial push?

I hope! Do people buy more RPGs over the holidays? I tend to catch up on my reading instead, especially while I'm traveling. How much more (percentage-wise) do you think you spend on RPGs during that time period?
