Waitaminute... I just noticed that page reported that Miramax is making the movie... but the rights to James Bond have always been owned by MGM/UA.

My Bullsh** detector just went off, big time.

Well maybe not. It could be a typo on the Times' part, but..

I know Miramax has been talking for a long time of doing a 60's James Bond movie. Quentain Tarantino really wanted to remake Casino Royale.

In 97-99 MGM finally won their lawsuit to gain all the JB movie rghts including Never Say never and Casino Royale.

However, Ian Fleming Estate has a deal with Miramax Books to do a Young James Bond series:

Maybe thats what this is referring to?

I'll go with this and say the whole thing is a big lie.... Orlando Bloom has done some great stuff, just not right for bond no matter the hair style or clothes they give him.

Man, this thread has brought up enough bad things to fuel my nightmares for a month. Another remake of Thunderball/Never Say Never Again. Another Casino Royale. Quentin Tarantino directing a Bond film. Young James Bond. Orlando Bloom as Bond.

Aaarrgh!

And does anyone remember the terrible James Bond, JR. cartoon from the early '90s? For anyone who missed it, it starred James Bond's teenage nephew as he battled an evil organization called S.C.U.M.. Oddjob was dressed like an early '80s rapper (iirc, he wore an oversized clock around his neck). I've heard that Jaws was in it, too. I shudder to think of what they did to him. :\

Ugh. Not Clive Owen. He's got to be one of the most card-board-ish actors in the business today. Even Keanu Reeves has more expressions (Confused and Surprised.)
